Forensic Technical Intake: Tablet Systems (Non-Apple)

Target: Samsung Galaxy Tab, Microsoft Surface, Lenovo, & Android Tablets

1. Primary Fault Classification

2. Account & Forensic Data Status

CRITICAL: Android tablets utilize **FRP (Factory Reset Protection)** and Windows tablets use **BitLocker**. If we perform a modular logic board swap or factory reset, the device will be locked to your Google or Microsoft account. You must ensure you know your credentials; we cannot bypass Account Locks.

3. Display & Touch Forensics

Forensic Insight: Tablet screens are often fused assemblies (Glass, Digitizer, and LCD/OLED). If you have ‘Ghost Touching’ (the tablet clicking things on its own), there is likely a hairline fracture in the digitizer layer or frame torsion (a bent frame) that is putting pressure on the module.

4. Battery & Structural Forensics

AI Technical Insight: Tablets are highly susceptible to Internal Battery Swelling. Since there is no empty space inside, a swelling battery will push directly against the screen from the inside out. If your screen is “lifting” or has a white glow in the center, the battery module is failing.

5. Physical Modification History

Why we need this: If the tablet screen has been replaced before, the adhesive seal may be weaker or thicker than original specifications. This affects how we safely open the device to access the internal modules.

6. Mandatory Packaging Compliance

IMPORTANT: Tablets have a massive surface area of fragile glass. The responsibility for secure packing remains entirely with the customer. Use a rigid box. Sandwich the tablet between two stiff sheets of cardboard to prevent the device from flexing (bending) during transit, which will shatter the LCD.
