Important Safety Information Before You Attempt Any Repair

Do not continue using a laptop if the battery is swollen, the casing is separating, the battery is getting unusually hot, there is a burning smell, smoke, visible liquid damage or another obvious electrical safety concern.

A swollen battery must not be posted or sent by courier. Contact us before bringing or sending a device so we can advise you on the safest way to proceed.

What Types of Laptops Do We Repair?

Our laptop repair service covers a wide range of non-Apple laptops, including:

Apple devices are not included in Laptop Repairs.

This page does not cover MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Pro or Mac Studio. Apple devices are handled separately through our Apple Repairs service.

Before You Send or Bring Your Laptop

Before bringing or posting your laptop, please make sure you have selected the faults that best describe the problem and tell us what has happened in your own words.

You do not need to know the technical cause of the problem. The purpose of the diagnostic service is to establish what is actually causing the fault.

If the problem is intermittent, please explain when it happens, what you were doing when it occurs and whether anything changes when the laptop is restarted.

Please do not attempt unnecessary repairs before diagnosis.

Opening a laptop, replacing components or changing settings without understanding the underlying fault can make diagnosis more difficult or cause additional damage.

What Is Included in the General Diagnostic – £39.99?

The General Diagnostic is designed for customers who know that something is wrong but do not know the technical cause.

We investigate the symptoms you have reported, assess the laptop and identify the most likely cause or causes of the problem. Where appropriate, we explain what repair work may be required and what options are available.

The diagnostic fee is for the diagnostic service. It does not automatically include replacement parts or repair labour.

What Is Included in the Advanced Diagnostic – £74.99?

The Advanced Diagnostic is intended for more complicated problems where a straightforward initial assessment is unlikely to be sufficient.

This can include intermittent faults, difficult-to-reproduce problems, multiple symptoms, complex hardware behaviour, startup problems, performance faults and situations where several possible causes need to be investigated.

We carry out a more extensive investigation and provide our findings together with the available repair options.

The diagnostic fee is for the diagnostic service. It does not automatically include replacement parts or repair labour.

What Is Included in the Deep Clean – £24.99?

The Deep Clean is a cleaning and preventative-maintenance service rather than a diagnostic service. It is intended for laptops affected by accumulated dust and debris or customers who want the internal cooling environment cleaned.

It is not a substitute for a diagnostic where the laptop has an unexplained fault.

Repair Times, Warranty & Diagnostic Information

Diagnostic investigations normally take between 1 and 7 working days, depending on the fault, workload and complexity of the investigation.

Where repair work is undertaken, our standard labour warranty is 40 days, subject to the applicable terms and exclusions.

Diagnostic findings and quotations are based on the condition of the device and the information available to us at the time of assessment.

Quotes are valid for 7 working days.

Liquid-damaged devices cannot be given the same warranty protection as ordinary repairs because corrosion and liquid-related faults can develop or reappear after the original repair.

Ready to Tell Us About Your Laptop?

Select every fault that applies, describe the problem in your own words and choose the service that best matches what you need.

Once you have completed the information above, use the appropriate service option to proceed with your enquiry and payment.

If you are unsure which service is appropriate, the General Diagnostic is normally the best starting point for an unexplained laptop fault.

Need Help Before You Proceed?

If you are unsure what the fault is, you do not need to identify the failed component yourself. Tell us exactly what the laptop is doing and we will use the diagnostic process to establish the cause.

Please provide as much information as possible about what happened, when the problem started, whether it is constant or intermittent and anything you have already noticed.
