Professional General Laptop Repairs

General Laptop Repairs

Professional repair and diagnostic support for Windows laptops, Chromebooks, gaming notebooks and all major portable computer brands. For lower-value laptops (such as older machines worth around £50), paying an upfront diagnostic fee does not make economic sense—so you can simply send your device in to us from anywhere in the UK, drop it into our store, or complete our free Web3Forms query form below.

General Laptop Repair Service

We repair general laptops rather than treating them as disposable devices. These systems can contain standard or high-performance CPUs, discrete graphics, large memory configurations, fast NVMe storage, advanced cooling systems and specialist hardware.

Repair by Post

Laptops can be sent to us from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, subject to our packaging and battery requirements.

  • Professional intake assessment
  • Diagnostic service
  • Repair where viable
  • Return arrangements after completion
Typical repair time: 1–7 working days once the laptop has been assessed and any required parts are available. Quotes are valid for 7 working days. Parts and labour are separate from the diagnostic charge where applicable.
Important laptop warning: High-performance and general laptops can contain powerful CPUs, dedicated GPUs, specialist cooling systems and high-capacity batteries. If the battery is swollen, physically damaged or producing unusual heat, do not continue charging or using the laptop. Swollen or damaged batteries must not be sent by post or courier.

Laptop Faults We Can Assess

Select every fault that applies. You can select multiple faults across multiple categories so we have a clearer picture of the laptop’s symptoms before assessment.

01 — Laptop Power, Startup & POST Faults
Diagnostic note: Laptop POST faults can involve RAM, storage, CPU, GPU, motherboard firmware, power delivery or other hardware. Further testing may be required.
02 — Laptop Display & Screen Faults
Diagnostic note: Display faults may originate from the panel, display cable, graphics hardware, graphics driver or motherboard circuitry. A screen replacement is not assumed until diagnosis.
03 — Laptop CPU & Performance Faults
Diagnostic note: High-performance CPUs can reduce clock speed when thermal or power limits are reached. Performance symptoms should be diagnosed before parts are replaced.
04 — Laptop Dedicated GPU & Graphics Faults
Important: Dedicated GPU faults can be hardware or software related. Some modern laptop GPUs and associated components may not be economically repairable at component level. We do not provide board-level, soldering or micro-soldering services.
05 — Laptop RAM & Memory Faults
Diagnostic note: Memory faults can cause apparently unrelated crashes, freezes and startup problems. Compatibility and configuration should be checked before replacement.
06 — Laptop SSD & Storage Faults
Important: If important data is stored on the laptop, tell us before diagnostic work begins. Data recovery is not guaranteed where a storage device has failed or is physically damaged.
07 — Laptop Cooling, Fans & Overheating
Diagnostic note: Laptop cooling systems can require maintenance over time. Cleaning, fan condition, thermal interfaces and heat-transfer components may all need assessment.
08 — Laptop Battery, Charger & Charging Faults
Safety warning: Do not continue using or charging a laptop with a suspected swollen, damaged or unusually hot battery. Do not send a swollen or damaged battery by post or courier.
09 — Laptop Keyboard, Touchpad & Input Faults
Diagnostic note: Liquid-related faults can continue to develop after the initial incident. Liquid damage does not carry a warranty against subsequent faults.
10 — Laptop Wi-Fi, Bluetooth & Network Faults
Diagnostic note: General laptop network faults can involve drivers, Windows configuration, adapter hardware, antennas or the network itself.
11 — Laptop USB-C, Thunderbolt, HDMI & Port Faults
Diagnostic note: USB-C and Thunderbolt ports can carry data, display and power functions. The exact fault must be established before a replacement is recommended.
12 — Laptop Windows, Drivers & Software Faults
Diagnostic note: Software can depend on specific drivers, firmware and hardware configurations. We diagnose the reported problem rather than assuming that reinstalling Windows is the answer.
13 — Laptop Hinges, Casing & Physical Damage
Diagnostic note: Physical damage may affect more than the visibly damaged component. The complete laptop should be assessed before a repair is quoted.
14 — Laptop Liquid, Moisture & Unknown Faults
Important: If liquid has entered the laptop, switch it off and disconnect power where safe to do so. Do not continue testing it unnecessarily. Liquid damage does not carry a warranty against subsequent faults.
