Professional diagnostic and repair services for gaming consoles, handheld systems and portable gaming hardware. We work with modern, previous-generation, retro and classic gaming systems.

Gaming Console Repair Service

Green Tech Repairs provides diagnostic and repair services for gaming consoles and portable gaming systems. We diagnose the fault before recommending the appropriate repair, replacement or next step.

We can investigate faults involving power, display, HDMI, controllers, storage, overheating, cooling, disc drives, software, operating-system problems, charging systems, connectivity and physical damage.

Every console is assessed individually because the construction, components, firmware, security systems and repairability can vary significantly between manufacturers and models.

Modern Gaming Consoles

Sony PlayStation

PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 5 and other supported PlayStation systems. Faults can include power problems, HDMI and display faults, overheating, storage problems, disc-drive faults, controller connectivity and software issues.

Microsoft Xbox

Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. We can investigate power, display, HDMI, storage, cooling, disc-drive, controller, connectivity and software-related faults.

Nintendo Switch

Nintendo Switch systems and supported variants. Common enquiries include charging problems, display faults, dock-related issues, storage, controller connectivity, overheating and software problems.

Other Modern Systems

We can assess other modern gaming systems where the required diagnostic and repair work is within our service capabilities. The exact model is important because internal hardware differs considerably between systems.

Previous-Generation Consoles

PlayStation 3 & Earlier

Supported PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and earlier systems can be assessed for faults involving power, disc reading, display, controllers, storage, cooling and general operation.

Xbox 360 & Earlier

Supported Xbox 360, original Xbox and earlier systems can be assessed for power, display, disc-drive, overheating, controller and general hardware faults.

Wii & Wii U

Supported Nintendo Wii and Wii U systems can be assessed for power, display, disc, controller, storage and software-related faults.

Older Nintendo Systems

Selected older Nintendo home consoles can be assessed depending on condition, availability of replacement parts and the type of repair required.

Retro, Vintage & Classic Consoles

Retro Consoles

Selected retro systems can be assessed for power, display, controller, cartridge, disc, storage and general operational faults.

Vintage Consoles

Older and vintage systems may require specialist parts, careful assessment and additional diagnostic work because replacement components can be difficult to source.

Classic Systems

Classic gaming hardware can be assessed where the required repair can be completed without board-level soldering or micro-soldering.

Mini & Reproduction Systems

Selected miniature and reproduction versions of classic consoles can be assessed for power, display, controller and software-related problems.

Handheld & Portable Gaming Systems

Nintendo Handhelds

Supported Nintendo handheld systems can be assessed for display, charging, buttons, controls, storage, connectivity and software-related faults.

Steam Deck & PC Handhelds

Supported PC gaming handhelds can be assessed for display, charging, storage, controls, operating-system and connectivity problems.

Portable PlayStation Systems

Supported PlayStation portable systems can be assessed for display, controls, storage, charging and general operational faults.

Other Portable Gaming Hardware

Other portable gaming systems may be considered following an assessment of the exact manufacturer, model and fault.

Important Gaming Console Repair Information

Some gaming consoles contain components that are manufacturer-specific, security-paired or electronically authorised to the original system. A physically compatible replacement part does not necessarily mean that the console will operate correctly after replacement.

Some modern console components are directly soldered to the motherboard or require board-level work, micro-soldering, programming, calibration or manufacturer-specific pairing procedures.

Green Tech Repairs does not provide board-level soldering, micro-soldering or component-level soldering repairs. Where a fault requires work outside our service capabilities, we will explain this rather than carry out an unsuitable repair.

Our Gaming Console Diagnostic Process

1. Customer InformationWe collect the exact console model and details of the fault you are experiencing.
2. Diagnostic AssessmentThe console is assessed to establish the likely cause of the reported problem.
3. Repair AssessmentWe determine whether the required work is technically appropriate and within our repair capabilities.
