Tablet Repairs

Technical repair, diagnostics and fault finding for Android and Windows tablets. We assess the hardware, operating system, connectivity, power system and internal components before recommending the appropriate repair.

From charging and display faults to boot failures, battery problems, overheating, damaged ports, connectivity faults and physical damage, we diagnose the actual problem rather than simply replacing parts without proper testing.

Professional Tablet Repairs

Tablets combine compact electronics, touch displays, rechargeable batteries, wireless connectivity, storage, system software and highly integrated circuit boards. A fault in one area can produce symptoms somewhere else, which is why proper diagnostics are important.

Power & Charging

Diagnosis of tablets that will not switch on, will not charge, charge intermittently, discharge rapidly or shut down unexpectedly.

Display & Touch

Assessment of cracked displays, failed LCD or OLED assemblies, damaged touch digitiser systems, dead areas, ghost touches, flickering and display faults.

Battery Systems

Battery health, charging behaviour, abnormal discharge, overheating during charging and battery-related shutdowns.

USB & Charging Ports

Fault finding for USB-C, Micro-USB and other tablet connectors, including intermittent connections and peripheral-detection problems.

System & Software

Android and Windows tablet boot problems, update failures, application faults, driver problems, system corruption and recovery issues.

Connectivity

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular data, SIM or eSIM functionality where supported, antenna-related symptoms and connection instability.

Important: Apple iPad Repairs

This page is specifically for Android and Windows tablets. Apple iPad repairs are handled separately under our Apple Repairs service.

Not Sure What Is Wrong?

You do not need to identify the failed component yourself. A tablet that appears to have a battery fault could have a charging-port, charging-circuit, software, motherboard or battery-management problem. We diagnose the device first and determine the appropriate repair route.

Detailed Tablet Repair Services

Our assessment covers the tablet’s relevant hardware and software systems. The exact repair options depend on the make, model, construction and availability of suitable replacement components.

Tablet Will Not Switch On

A completely dead tablet can have several possible causes. We assess the power path rather than assuming the battery has failed.

  • Power-button operation
  • Battery condition and voltage behaviour
  • Charging response
  • USB charging input
  • Charging and power-management circuitry where accessible
  • Internal connectors and flex cables
  • Signs of liquid or physical damage
  • Boot activity and system response
  • Display failure where the tablet may actually be operating
  • Motherboard or system-board symptoms
Charging Problems

Charging faults are not always caused by the charging port. We assess the complete charging path where practical.

  • USB-C and Micro-USB connector condition
  • Loose or intermittent charging connection
  • Charging cable and power-source behaviour
  • Charging negotiation where applicable
  • Battery charging behaviour
  • Charging circuitry and power-management symptoms
  • Unexpected charging interruption
  • Tablet charging unusually slowly
  • Tablet reporting that it is connected but not charging
Battery Problems

Battery faults can present as rapid discharge, unexpected shutdowns, charging problems, overheating or a tablet that will not start correctly.

  • Battery capacity and degradation assessment
  • Unexpected battery percentage changes
  • Rapid discharge
  • Unexpected shutdowns
  • Battery swelling assessment
  • Abnormal charging behaviour
  • Excessive heat during charging or use
  • Battery replacement where a suitable serviceable replacement is available

Swollen or physically compromised batteries require appropriate safety handling and must not be posted or sent by courier.

Screen & Display Problems

We assess the display assembly and associated connections to distinguish physical panel damage from other display faults.

  • Cracked glass or display assembly
  • LCD faults
  • OLED faults where fitted
  • Black or blank display
  • Flickering
  • Lines across the display
  • Incorrect colours or brightness
  • Intermittent display operation
  • Backlight-related symptoms on applicable LCD systems
  • Internal display connector and flex-cable problems
Touchscreen & Digitiser Problems

Touch faults can affect a specific area of the screen or the entire digitiser system.

  • Touchscreen completely unresponsive
  • Dead touch areas

Storage Problems

Tablet storage is often integrated into the system board and may not be upgradeable in the same way as a conventional desktop or laptop SSD.

  • Storage-health symptoms
  • Slow system performance caused by storage limitations
  • Operating-system boot failures
  • Insufficient storage
  • Application installation failures
  • File-system or operating-system corruption
  • Model-specific storage replacement feasibility assessment

We do not assume that a tablet can accept a conventional SSD upgrade. The exact model must be assessed first.

Memory & RAM Problems

Tablet memory architecture varies considerably. Many tablets use soldered memory that cannot be replaced or upgraded as a conventional RAM module.

  • Memory-related instability
  • System crashes associated with memory pressure
  • Performance assessment
  • Model-specific memory architecture
  • Distinguishing RAM limitations from storage limitations

Where RAM is soldered to the system board, conventional customer RAM upgrades are not available.

Repair, Replacement or Recovery?

The correct solution depends on the actual fault and the tablet’s construction. We do not automatically recommend a replacement part simply because it is associated with the symptom.

Component Replacement

Where the faulty component is separately serviceable and suitable parts are available, replacement may be appropriate.

Repair & Fault Correction

Some problems can be resolved through adjustment, cleaning, configuration, software repair or correction of an identified connection or component issue.

Operating System Recovery

Where the hardware is functioning correctly, system recovery, repair or reinstallation may resolve software-related problems.

Model-Specific Assessment

Tablet construction varies considerably. Some batteries, storage devices, displays and other components may be integrated or difficult to service, so feasibility is assessed by exact make and model.
