Packaging Guide: Ultrabook
1. Preparation
- System State: Fully power off. Do not ship in Sleep or Hibernation.
- Screen Protection: Use a protective microfiber cloth between the display and the keyboard to prevent screen marking.
- Chassis Preservation: Ultrabooks are often built with thin-wall chassis; ensure no heavy objects are placed on top of the laptop during the packing process.
2. The Box-in-Box Method
- Inner Box: Wrap the unit in 6cm of anti-static bubble wrap and place it in a snug, rigid inner carton.
- Outer Box: Use a new, double-wall corrugated box providing 14cm of clearance on all sides.
- Cushioning: Use industrial foam to fully immobilize the device to prevent chassis bending.
3. Labelling & Documentation
- Fragile Labelling: Affix “FRAGILE – ULTRABOOK” and “HANDLE WITH CARE” labels on all sides.
- Documentation: Include your full name, return address, and service reference inside the box.
Important: Ensure full insurance coverage, as thin-chassis Ultrabooks are highly susceptible to pressure damage.
