Packaging Guide: PlayStation 3
1. Preparation
- Media Removal: Ensure no game disc is in the Blu-ray drive. The internal loading mechanism is delicate and can be damaged if a disc remains inside during transit.
- Chassis Preservation: Use anti-static material to wrap the console casing, as the finish can be prone to scratching or scuffing.
- Peripheral Management: Remove all cables and controllers. Coil cables loosely to prevent wire fatigue.
2. The Box-in-Box Method
- Inner Box: Wrap the console in 6cm of anti-static bubble wrap. Place it securely in a rigid, custom-fit inner carton.
- Outer Box: Use a new, double-wall corrugated box that provides 14cm of clearance on all sides.
- Cushioning: Utilize high-density foam blocks to completely immobilize the device.
3. Labelling & Documentation
- Fragile Labelling: Affix “FRAGILE – VINTAGE ELECTRONICS” and “HANDLE WITH CARE” labels on all sides.
- Documentation: Include your full name, return address, and service reference inside the box.
Important: Do not use adhesive tape on the console casing, as this can damage the surface finish.
