Forensic Technical Intake: MacBook Ecosystem

Service Protocol: Apple-Silicon & Intel Modular Validation

1. Primary Fault Classification

2. Security & Handshake Forensics

CRITICAL: Modern MacBooks utilize Activation Lock. If a modular Logic Board swap is required, the device is unusable if Find My Mac is active. We also verify Touch ID status; this module is cryptographically paired to the board. Swapping Touch ID without its paired board results in a permanent loss of biometric functionality.

3. Display & Structural Integrity

Forensic Insight: MacBooks suffer from “Flexgate” (interconnect fatigue). If the image cuts out when the lid is opened wide, the display cable module is compromised. We also check for “Hall Effect” sensor failure, which prevents the MacBook from “waking up” when the lid is opened.

4. Power & Liquid Forensics

AI Technical Insight: If the MacBook charges from one side but not the other, the modular Thunderbolt Controller or the USB-C Daughterboard has failed. We verify the Liquid Contact Indicators (LCI); if triggered, modular corrosion on the board rails is the primary suspect for system instability.

5. Previous Repair & Modification History

Why we need this: MacBooks use proprietary Pentalobe screws. If a previous repair used non-OEM adhesive or missed internal Shield Plates, the structural integrity of the modular components is compromised.

6. Mandatory Packaging Compliance

IMPORTANT: MacBooks have ultra-thin display tolerances. The responsibility for secure packing remains with the customer. Use a double-walled box. REMOVE all keyboard skins or webcam covers; these will shatter the display module during transit pressure.
