Mobile Workstation Shipping & Packaging Protocol
Follow this protocol precisely before dispatch. Mobile Workstations contain high-density thermal, power, and GPU subsystems that are sensitive to transit stress.
1. Preparation
- Fully power down the Mobile Workstation and disconnect AC adapter
- Remove all peripherals (docks, external GPUs, USB storage, adapters)
- Ensure internal storage encryption keys / passwords are known if required for diagnostics
- Back up all data before shipment (no data retention liability)
- Remove SIM / SD / external media where applicable
- Place device in anti-static bag prior to packing
2. Packaging Requirements
- Outer Container: Double-walled corrugated box rated for electronics transit load
- Thermal/Mechanical Isolation: Minimum 50mm high-density foam clearance on all axes
- Shock Control: No loose-fill-only packing (must include structural foam support)
- Chassis Protection: Minimum 3 layers anti-static bubble wrap or equivalent ESD wrap
- Internal Stability: Device must not shift under inversion or lateral motion
- Sealing: Reinforced H-tape sealing across all seams and edges
- Labeling: “FRAGILE – HIGH DENSITY ELECTRONICS – HANDLE AS STATIC-SENSITIVE UNIT”
3. Documentation
- Full legal name
- Order / RMA reference
- Mobile Workstation model + serial number
- Contact email and telephone number
- Detailed fault description (symptoms + triggers + frequency)
4. Logistics
- Priority Tier: Courier collection with insured transit handling
- Standard Tier: Customer-arranged insured shipping or drop-off
- Tracking number must be retained and recorded
- Dispatch only after intake confirmation
