1. Preparation
- System State: Completely power off. Do not leave the device in Sleep or Hibernation.
- Screen Protection: Use a protective microfiber layer between the display and keyboard to prevent key-mark etching or pressure damage to the panel.
- Hinge Integrity: Ensure the device is fully closed before packing.
2. The Box-in-Box Method
- Inner Box: Wrap the unit in 6cm of anti-static foam wrap and place it in a rigid, custom-fit inner carton.
- Outer Box: A new, double-wall corrugated box providing at least 14cm of clearance on every side.
- Cushioning: Utilize high-density industrial foam blocks to fully immobilize the device.
3. Labelling & Documentation
- Fragile Labelling: Affix “FRAGILE – SURFACE LAPTOP 5” and “HANDLE WITH CARE” labels on all sides.
- Documentation: Include your full name, return address, and service reference inside the box.
Important: Ensure full insurance coverage, as the display panel is costly to replace and sensitive to impact.
