Packaging Guide: NUC Essential
1. Preparation
- System State: Completely power off. Disconnect all peripherals and the external power brick.
- Chassis Preservation: NUC Essential units are often small and lightweight; ensure any included mounting brackets are removed and packed separately to avoid scratching the chassis.
- Port Protection: Ensure no external cables are left in the ports, as these can exert leverage and damage the board-mounted jacks during transit.
2. The Box-in-Box Method
- Inner Box: Wrap the unit in 6cm of anti-static foam wrap and place it in a rigid, custom-fit inner carton.
- Outer Box: A new, double-wall corrugated box providing at least 14cm of clearance on every side.
- Cushioning: Utilize high-density industrial foam blocks to ensure the unit is completely immobilized.
3. Labelling & Documentation
- Fragile Labelling: Affix “FRAGILE – NUC ESSENTIAL” and “HANDLE WITH CARE” labels on all sides.
- Documentation: Include your full name, return address, and service reference inside the box.
Important: Ensure full insurance coverage. Although NUC Essential units are robust, their compact size makes them susceptible to high-impact damage if dropped during shipping.
