Why Diagnostics Matter

Most repair shops guess the fault and order parts before even opening your device. If they’re wrong, you wait 7–10 working days for a refund and another 7–10 days for the correct part. That’s how customers end up paying £300 for a tablet screen repair when the real problem was a swollen battery.

At Green Tech Repairs, we don’t guess. We diagnose properly. We open the device safely, confirm the fault, and only then quote the repair. No wasted money. No wrong parts. No delays. No surprises.

Diagnostic Tiers

Choose the diagnostic level that best matches your needs. We do not carry out soldering, chip‑level, power‑rail or board‑level repairs.

Silver Diagnostic — £49

The Silver Diagnostic is the starting point — the “let’s find out what’s actually wrong” tier. It’s for customers who don’t want guesswork, don’t want assumptions, and don’t want to be told they need a £300 repair when the real issue might be something simple. Silver confirms whether the problem is basic, surface‑level, or something deeper.

Cleaning Level: Basic External Clean

The device receives a light external clean: wipe‑down, surface dust removal, and vent dusting without opening the device. This makes it safe to handle and inspect without going inside.

Diagnostic Depth: Basic Confirmation Diagnostic

We check startup behaviour, charging behaviour, display response, ports, software, and look for obvious faults. Silver answers the question: “Is this a simple fix, or does it need deeper investigation?”

Gold Diagnostic — £79

The Gold Diagnostic is the “proper look inside” tier — the one for devices that need real investigation. It’s for customers dealing with intermittent faults, overheating, liquid exposure concerns, or issues that can’t be diagnosed from the outside.

Cleaning Level: Internal Airflow Clean

The device is opened safely and cleaned internally: fans, heatsinks, vents, and internal cavities are cleared of dust and debris. This allows accurate thermal readings and internal inspection.

Diagnostic Depth: Full Internal Non‑Electronic Diagnostic

We inspect internal components (non‑soldered), check thermal behaviour, look for liquid traces, test mechanical parts, and investigate intermittent issues. Gold answers the question: “What’s really going on inside this device?”

Platinum Diagnostic — £99

The Platinum Diagnostic is the top tier — the priority, full‑clarity, maximum‑detail diagnostic. It’s for customers who need answers fast, who have complex issues, or who want the most complete non‑electronic assessment possible.

Cleaning Level: Full Internal & External Clean (Non‑Electronic)

Every accessible component is cleaned: fans, vents, heatsinks, internal plastics, and external surfaces. Thermal paste is checked where appropriate, and the device receives priority handling.

Diagnostic Depth: Priority Full Diagnostic

Platinum receives the fastest turnaround and the most detailed inspection. We investigate complex faults, assess previous repair attempts, check software‑side data issues, and evaluate upgrade suitability. Platinum answers the question: “Give me the full picture — and give it to me first.”

Parts & Labour

Parts and labour are not included in any diagnostic tier.

After your diagnostic is completed, you will receive a repair quote. You can then choose whether to proceed.
